To get to grips with the site Jack and I went down at night with good intentions, but we got a bit carried away with the photography.

SEMESTER 2

second semester was epic. Haven’t posted anything since the end of the first semester but here goes..we were given a brief to design the festival for the Oxford Literary Festival 2010 to be held in Headington Hill Park (a site right next to the university). Our inspiration came from a fictional book of our choice, mine being Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind, although the project developed and eventually my concepts became deeper than the literal links you could make with the book. I was mainly inspired by protagonist Richard Cypher’s mammoth journey on which he discovers secrets about himself that wouldn’t have usually come to light, and he is forced into a level of conscious thought that takes him places that spark a new pathway for him to follow.

Elevation drawing…This took me hours and hours, i chose to do the detailing of the Ivy in technical pen, then colouring in with ink to get the effect of the Ivy taking over the whole building.

The ritual of entering the club..

The ritual of entering the club..

The first year is about learning how to think, how to think architecturally. Thats what they tell us. Cut a long story short, i designed ‘Undress’, a clubhouse for nudists/naturists to be healthy, socialise and do what nudists do. It’s a bit deeper than that but I’l leave you to your own visions as to what goes on in my club. Here are some of my drawings from the completed project.
